Behind Modern Warfare Week

Co-Sponsorship for Modern Warfare Week

The Global SOF Foundation (Global SOF) and the U.S. Army Special Operations Command (USASOC) have announced a three-year co-sponsorship agreement for Modern Warfare Week. This landmark agreement establishes a shared, multiyear operational commitment to the event through 2028, ensuring sustained collaboration between the military and industry during a critical window of defense modernization.

The three-year horizon builds on a longstanding relationship between the foundation and the Army Special Operations community. By securing the partnership through 2028, USASOC and Global SOF provide a predictable, stable platform for defense partners to invest, innovate, and evolve their technologies alongside the exact, long-term needs of the force.

“Modern Warfare Week serves as a vital arena connecting Army Special Operations Forces with our partners in industry and the wider SOF community,” said Col. Gabriel A. Szody, USASOC Chief of Staff. “This sustained partnership ensures we can effectively shape the future of special operations for years to come.”

Taking place 16 to 19 November 2026 at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, this year’s Modern Warfare Week will bring together leaders from across the Special Operations Forces (SOF) community, government, industry, and the broader national security ecosystem.

“Modern Warfare Week is at its strongest when it connects the operational community directly with the people, ideas, and capabilities shaping what comes next,” said Meaghan Keeler, Chief Operating Officer, Global SOF. “Co-sponsoring the event with USASOC strengthens that connection and helps ensure the conversations taking place at Fort Bragg remain grounded in the real requirements of Army Special Operations Forces.”

Modern Warfare Week 2026 Event Highlights

  • Four Days of Programming: A multi-day symposium and exhibition focused on technology engagement and defense networking.
  • Dedicated Demo Day (19 Nov): Held at The Range Complex, allowing participating organizations to demonstrate capabilities in an operationally relevant environment.
  • Senior Leadership Presence: Confirmed speakers include:
    • Lieutenant General Lawrence G. “Gil” Ferguson, Commanding General, U.S. Army Special Operations Command
    • Lieutenant General Steven M. Marks, Vice Commander, U.S. Special Operations Command
    • Command Sergeant Major David Waldo, Command Sergeant Major, U.S. Army Special Operations Command

The event continues a trajectory of significant growth. Modern Warfare Week 2025 welcomed over 1,400 attendees, including 35 percent being military and government representatives, alongside over 120 sponsors, exhibitors, and demonstrators.

As global threats grow increasingly complex, this 2026 to 2029 co-sponsorship ensures that Modern Warfare Week functions as more than just an annual gathering. It serves as a strategic catalyst for SOF readiness. This sustained three-year commitment guarantees that the operators defining the requirements and the industry leaders building the solutions have a dedicated, long-term arena to collaborate, ultimately accelerating the delivery of critical capabilities to the warfighter.

“Modern Warfare Week is built to be more than a traditional conference,” added Amy Belicev, Senior Director of Events, Global SOF. “It is a place for the community to come together, address the operational challenges that matter, see emerging capabilities firsthand, and connect with the people working those problems every day. We are proud to build the next three years alongside USASOC.”

Modern Warfare Week is jointly sponsored by GSF and USASOC, however, co-sponsorship of this event does not imply endorsement of GSF, its services, or products by the United States Government, the Department of Defense, or U.S. Army Special Operations Command.
